Tech_heads: Do you hate MS?

The guy I work in IT with, loves Microsoft and Bill Gates....

I just can't understand it...EVERYONE, hates Bill Gates and MOST people hate Microsoft...

The only explanation I can come up with is that he's new (albeit very competent) with WinXP....I don't think he's had the experiences of BSOD's, Freeze-ups, and 'infinity+1' reboots....

and since XP/2000 is relatively stable (using the same Kernal), he just hasn't had the problems I've had....

I don't hate MS, nor am I in love with it either. You just learn to use the tools you have to and go on. The new guy loves it because he knows and is comfortable with it.

Back when IBM was the shizzle, I hoped Bill G would eat their lunch and make them humble. Yeah, MS was rough around the edges, but there was promise there....

Except instead of fixing their fundamental security problems, they gave us Clippy. So, yeah, I'm cheering on Linus and Steve Jobs these days -- but both of them this time, not just one or the other.

Be careful what you wish for.

Microsoft spawned an entire new job sector in the world employing hundreds of thousands of people in this country alone. Going to a four year college is no longer a requirement to a decent job. The tech revolution of the 90's pushed the Dow over 10,000 and made NASDAQ a household name. Do I love Bill gates; no. But I have all the respect in the world for him and his company.
