Teams to beat in the NFL

Thick dog

Without being biased towards my favorite teams, it looks to be an interesting year this year, there will be a lot of contenders. I think of all the front runners, the Rams made the most upgrades, especially on defense. Tampa looks strong, but I thought they underachieved last year, just like Indianapolis. Minnesota got no defensive help and the Titans appear to still be missing a big play threat on offense, So I like the Rams and Ravens, if they stay healthy. This year will prove whether or not the Ravens were a fluke. Who knows, maybe a dark horse team will win it all, just like the last 2 years...

yes, i know... i am being a bit bias here... but i really do like the eagles... i am not big on the bucs offense though, i think dunn is too iffy as a featured back and alstott seems to be losing carries...

i think the vikings can outscore anyone (rams too) so i like minny out of the central... i like the bears to surprise some folks too... but not be a contender, just a solid 8-8 team...

rams from the west just because i think the saints are NOT GOOD and the niners are not there yet on defense and with the loss of garner.... so rams, vikings, and eagles.. in the nfc...

afc colts offense is fun, and ravens and fish have them defenses... but i still like tennessee... they are the only team with solid EVERYTHING... they lost neal and got floyd, that may hurt a little... eddie george is the key, i love the guy.. i love the way he hits linebackers before they get him... the titans have a score to settle with the ravens this year, those meetings should be AWESOME!!! hard hitting and fun...

titans handed the ravens a whoopin in that playoff game for most of it... they just didnt score and the ravens special teams did... nobody can say the titans didnt give that one away... they had em...

ah, then the next day the giants did my eagles... shitty weekend!!!

also in the afc i like the raiders in the central, garner and rice will add some punch.. especially garner.

titans vs. eagles in the superbowl... EAGLES WIN 117-2, they took a knee in the endzone at half...

:)

and just for the record... when the eagles had pederson (fucking bum) i KNEW they were horrible on offense, i stood by the fact their defense was awesome... it just looked bad cuz they played 37 minutes a game and had shitty field position...

both years, i KNEW AND SAID the eagles sucked... last year i said they would make the playoffs (though i thought washington was a lock as the division champ).. i also said they would go 11-5...

what i am saying is if the eagles have a shitty team, i can and do admit it... i just cheer my ass off anyway...

It's tough to say now, with salary cap and free agency. Any team is an injury away from a losing season. And it seems that as soon as a team gets it's salary cap under control.... they go out and spend too much money:confused:

I'm a 49er fan, so I'll always like them.... they might make the playoffs this year:)

For the AFC teams.... I think that the Ravens will play well and the Raiders will be very hard to beat!

NFC.... it's up in the air.... just depends on who has less injuries.

BTW.... I sure hope that Doug Flutie does well.... stupid Bills:confused:

Word Dat on my Oakland boys.. Silver and Black ATTACK !!!!
Back to the running game of old.

We may be Old, But we be BOLD...

the bills made a huge mistake... actually, tons of mistakes but involving the same guy...

starting johnson instead of flutie in the music city miracle game was flat out wrong ( i have that game on tape, awesome)...

having johnson be your starter last year.. wrong again..
putting up with his injuries and STILL going back to him??? wrong...
keeping him around and letting your real starter go? wrong!!!! ya, flutie is old but old is better than BROKEN!

i too like the chiefs.. i think they did well by getting green and holmes... actually, i think holmes was the key.. they now have a back they can feature more so than the last 4 years...i was thinking 9-7 for the chefs...

one of their losses will be at aarow head with me in attendance.... cheering on the midnight green team across the field....

I like the Titans too, they are the most well rounded team, but it seems like when their running game stalls, they can't find the end zone. While very talented, I'd like to see a little more from the Eagles and Raiders...

i think the raiders are a GOOD linebacker away from being incredibly solid on defense... maybe a safety too...

those corners are awesome...

eagles talent is new talent, so lofty expectations are somewhat unearned... face it, this is mcnabbs 2nd year as a full time starter... he and duce have only played in 11 games together, and 6 of them were at the end of a shitty year, and NONE have come with a good batch of receivers... should be a fun year for duce if the wide outs can play...

its funny seeing rich gannon be a stud now... i still remember him on the vikings before moon got their...

one thing i know... THE COWBOYS ARE A HORRIBLE TEAM... and i fucking love it. how bout them cowboys???

Madbomber--its hurts to say it, but i agree that the Eagles have a chance this year.

J Thrash will jack up Donovans passing numbers, if he isn't open, D will just run the ball like he always does. If that doesn't work, he can just pass it off to Duce who is a bad ass (if he is healthy). Eagles should be as good as they were last year, maybe better, depends on how Thrash and Duce fit in to the scenerio. (By the way, Donovan is rated ahead of Warner in fantasy ball, thats how big of a season people are expecting from him)

Personally I think the Vikes will suffer without a quality RB, this just puts more attention on Moss and Carter, of course Daunte can run the ball also, but its hard to win without a good RB. Personally I doubt Michael Bennett can be a top 10 back in his rookie season, but look what Edgerrin did, anything can happen I guess, but most rookie RB's are shitty their first year.

Rams, gotta like the Rams, they picked up some Defensive picks and still got ALL of their offensive weapons. Aside from injuries, I see no reason why they won't dominate again.

Broncos can be right back in the mix if their Defense decides to show up. TD could explode again, if not, then Mike Anderson can take over. Greise is a bad ass, and he has 2 quality WR's in Rod Smith and Ed Mccafrey, watch out for them

The Ravens offense should improve with Grbac, but I don't know how good the Baltimore recievers will be, KC had lots of offensive weapons, Baltimore is mainly defense. Grbacs numbers could drop dramatically from last year. Regardless, I like the Ravens also.

My superbowl picks----Rams or Ravens

Sleepers--Eagles, Broncos, Colts

Busts--Titans

McNair sucks, and his receivers are injured, E George is also not healthy.
