Teaching old dogs new tricks

So I have 2 dogs. We just got our landscaping done and would like to train the dogs to do poops and pee in the same place each time. Any ideas?

there;s no fucking way i could get my mutt to do that.....the gardens his domain and all his peeing is 'marking his territory'

you could try the way you housetrained them (i.e. not to poop or pee inside)....maybe by leaving something on the ground as a target for them to poop on and telling them to poop on that (praising them if they do and berating them when they don't),
my dog does understand certain things if i talk to him by association

If they are puppies you gotta take them outside on a lease and bring them to the area you want them to go. You do this to train the dog that going outside isn't just play time. This will also get the dog to be trained to releive themself in that spot.
