Tea

I drink this stuff most of the day, with sweetener. Hot in the morning and iced in the afternoon. It probably makes up half my daily water intake.

Is there any reason not to do this?

As long as the sweetener doesn't spike your insulin, I don't see a problem, unless you are concerned about the caffeine.

I drink several cups of decaffeinated green tea with lemon during the day. I love the stuff!:p

Anthrax...you know very well that I use the only true sweetener, Equal (aspartame), also known as God's sweetener. :D

And yeah, I'm good about taking my multis so that's covered.

FF - I'm not on a low carb diet right now so the insulin thing isn't a concern for me.

I never doubt that you would do the right choice :D

BTW, adding cinnamon (and ginger) to your tea is a great idea (and it tastes pretty good)

You should count your water intake, than add the tea to it. Tea should not make up 1/2 of water intake. Some tea decreases minteral absorption, try adding ginger root of psyllium husk to it (for a quick drink that is).

good info about tea:

One may also benefit by switching from coffee or other caffeinated beverages to herbal teas. Green tea, with its powerful immune-enhancing antioxidants, catechins and bioflavonoids, is an excellent hot beverage for better immune functions.
