Hey h2man...I think we all here completely understand your concerns regarding testosterone raising total cholesterol levels. To answer your questions directly: YES TESTOSTERONE WILL RAISE TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS (and can adversely effect your good and bad cholesterol levels respectively). For supplements to reduce/maintain healthy cholesterol levels...see below.

I just started my first cycle of 500mg of Primoteston Depot and 300mg per week of Primobolin Depot. I will be running both at the same doses for 12 weeks.

The problem is my total cholesterol was 260 in June of 2001 (I am 29yo 5'11'' and 190#). Knowing that I was going to start my cycle at the end of September I was naturally concerned.

I have a very dear friend who is 54yo and he has full blown AIDS. A couple of years ago his natural testosterone levels were close to zero and he couldn't even get aroused sexually (having AIDS...this was the least of his problems). His doctor put him on testosterone replacement therapy and his health, energy (mental and physical), as well as his sex drive improved tremendously. However, after about 2 years of receiving bi-weekly testosterone shots, his cholesterol levels increased to "unsafe" levels. His doctor put him on a lower dosage of testosterone and has prescribed "Niacin" to lower his cholesterol levels. This has worked wonders for his cholesterol levels; he is on 3000mg per day. The only issue with Niacin is that you have to build up to the dosage (1000mg -3000mg per day, or whatever your doctor may prescribe) slowly and you cannot miss a dosage. If you do...you have to start over from your initial low dose. There are two types of Niacin: regular and "no flush". Regular is highly recommended because it is less toxic to the liver, the "no flush" formula of niacin is a sustained release version to reduce flushing and in high doses can put a lot of undue strain on your liver.

I did some research of my own and found some natural supplements that can reduce high cholesterol levels. Check the following link for additional information other than what I provide here: http://qualitycounts.com/fpcholestin.html

I followed the recommendation at this link of 1.2 grams of the Red Yeast Rice, 1 gram of the Niacin, 1 gram Red Clover and 300mg of Pantethine. I also took 1 gram of Ultra Guggulow (an Indian herb that lowers cholesterol). I took this for a total of three days and had no energy; I felt as though I was going to pass out during my workouts and couldn't even finish them. When I suspended all of the aforementioned supplements I felt normal.

I am currently taking nothing to augment my cholesterol levels while I am on my first cycle. I am doing 30 minutes of cardio five times per week and that's it. (Side effects will be side effects...I chose not to mess with any additional aspects of my body to try and create the perfect cycle with no negative aspects).

Be smart, eat right (clean), and do your cardio. This is my cholesterol maintenance recommendation during a cycle.

Please feel free to email me directly if you have any cholesterol related questions.

Good luck buddy!!!!
