Syringe filters -- when to use?

Do you use a syringe filter every time you open an ampule, even if it seems like a clean break? Or do you only use them when the vial shatters and you don't want to toss it? I have one of those amp opening gizmos, and get what looks like a clean break, but should I still be concerned about getting glass shards?

if you're using an amp opener then you're probably fine. I once thought it would be a good idea to break open the amps and filter them into a larger vial to avoid any small glass particles but I scratched that idea because I was too lazy to actually do it. The chance of getting an infection because of glass is low but it could happen I imagine.
