Synthroid? This might be the wrong board but...

Crossing Over

New member
This may be the wrong discuccion board for this question, if it is I am sorry.

Since summer is coming, I get all the questions like many of us probably also get from out of shape people wanting to look like cover models for summer. Well being that I decided to cross over I cannot be a hypocrit when my friends and aquaintences asks me about Rx Drugs to aid them in fat loss. Well my best friend mentioned Synthroid to me. I heard of this drug from people who actually had it perscribed to them and that it speeds up thyroid function for people with underactive thyroids.

Basically, I told him i will see what I can find and to hold off for a bit. Damn I sound like I am lying about all of this "friend stuff." I did a quick Google search and found some information on it and it did not sound like it was very risky but I have a few quetions that you guys may be able to help with.

*Is it going to eat away at muscle? I refuse to give my "thumbs up" to anything that will cause a person to be a skinnier Fat person.

*More imprtantly, will it help with a person who has normal thyroid function?

*lastly, I am not sure of the going "street" price but anybody know what the expected price should be?

Well I figured I would throw this out to you guys for some real world advice. I am also still searching the net but I am finding a bunch of poop so far.

L-Thyroxine (Synthroid, Tryrax,etc..) is a sinthetical manufactured thyroid hormone. It is one of two hormones that is produced in the thyroid.
It is used to accelerate the metabolizing of carbohidrates, proteins and fats. If is taken increased dosages ( about 400 to 600 mcg by day ) not only fat but protein (muscle ) are burned. So keep dosage low to moderate (between 200 to 400 mcg).
Begin with a small dosage and increase it slowly and evenly.

It appear that "street" price is about 50$ by 100 tabs of 150 mcg

Synthroid is basically useless for your purposes, cytamel perhaps combined with clenbuterol would be the best choice. Both run for about 20-25$ per 100 if you know where to "shop".

On a side note, whatever happened to busting your ass to lose weight? I lost a ton of fat naturally by fixing my diet and running sprints for 30 minutes in the AM 5-6 days a week many years ago.

To answer your questions:

Cytomel has a tendency to be somewhat catabolic at higher doses, however clenbuterol will negate this somewhat since it has mild anabolic properties. The point is really moot however, since dieting almost always means a loss of strength and size no matter what you're taking.

And finally, Prolonged use of any thermogenic or thyroid hormone will cause natural production of adrenaline or t3 to drop after ceasing usage. That is why i'm a proponent of fat loss through natural means because the results are almost always more permanant.

Thanks for the info guys.

I know it sounds as if I am speaking for myself but using the alias "my bestfriend" but honestly I am speaking for a friend. Sh!t, I am nervous enough about my first cycle never mind adding something I know very little of into the mix.

I am all for busting my ass to lose and busted my ass for many years. Not everybody has the dedication. I told him that any form of weightloss is usually somewhat catabolic but was not sure if underactive thyroid drugs will increase this by a helluva a lot (hence skinnier fat guy - ya know looks good clothed but full of loose skin underneath).

I will print the post and pass it on and have him finish his own research and let him weigh the benefits vs risks himself.

T4 (Synthroid) is essentially the same thing as T3 (cytomel). However, T3 is the only active hormone. T4 is converted to T3 in the body by Type 1 and Type 2 deiodinase. T3 is 4x as potent as T4 because no conversion is necessary. T4 is what is used by the medical community because it is much longer acting (effects after 9 days and 1/2 life of 11-15 days, whereas T3 has effects after 4-6 hrs, max in 2 days, and 1/2 of 8 days.

T3 is CATABOLIC and as I have said in other posts, there are multiple actions aside from its effect on metabolism. There are 5 different receptors located all over the body which has effects on the pituitary and hypothalamus, central nervous system, heart, liver, bone, and adipose tissue.

Clenbuterol has NO effect on T3's catabolic mechanisms.

Also, DO NOT take any aspirin while using T3 or T4!!!!

Well, no offense..but your friend is a lazy ass fuckin' moron.

If he uses any of these drugs he'll gain all his weight back when his thyroid shuts down post cycle...since he'll be too lazy to do any cardio or eat right.
