Swelling of feet post contest- 6 weeks?

brotheriron

New member
wondering if anyone has an answer,

My training partner finished last show in early june, but is still holding loads of water in ankles and feet. Theyre a kind of purple/blue colour. Obviously this is a result of using the diuretics for a number of weeks, but dont normally have the problem of excess water for 6 weeks!

Anyone know how to get rid of it? Or should he just wait?

kidneys are fine yeah. No water retention elsewhere either, just the feet. Weird. They have started to come down, but still is a bit worrying.

This happened to a friend of mines hands. He was in the middle of a cycle and he had to leave the country for work. He had some underground test(brovel?) that was supposed to be like 400mg per cc. He thought he would just use what was left in the jug before leaving, no he is not a very informed user. While he was away his hands blew up as you described. He refused to go to a doctor but his girl's mom is a nurse who talked to a doctor for him. Doc said it was likely because his hormone levels were too high and asked if he was using.
This makes me think it may not be a diuretic based problem but rather too high a level of androgens.

No, most probably a feedback loop effect from the diuretics. Obviously no androgens pre contest and none since, and he was competing for about 12 weeks so long time without androgenics.

Only gear pre comp in last 12 weeks was winny, alot of gh and t3, then lasix before every competition. Was carb depleting/ loading every 2 weeks, and dehydrating every 2 weeks

cheers

This can happen due to a weakened or inefficient heart. It's known as edema and people with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) will get this. He should see a doc asap to rule this out. btw, large doses of CoQ10 can very much improve the function and pumping ability of the heart improving it's efficiency. I also highly recommend L-Carnitine Fumarate for this.

Did he binge post contest? A lot of "bingable" foods contain a shitload of Na which can lead to that. My knees swelled up after a show one time, not to the extent of your friends though.

This is a fairly common after-effect of pre-contest fluid manipulation. Did your friend use oral diuretics, or injectibles? I'd guess orals.

Another thing to have a doc to check out is LIVER FUNCTION. Another guy here (scotty2hotty) posted a similar problem some months ago and his doctor told him he was in the last stages of liver failure.
