Not necessarily. And not only that, if you're in the anabolic forum, you have to realize that that deals with ALL things anabolic, not just steroids. Next, if you are using steroids and dont use supplements, you are an absolute fool. And before anyone should ever try AAS in the first place, they should have already maxed out their physique with supplements anyway.

To answer your question, there are a lot of supplements that work.

Creatine, Glutamine, Protein are probably the most 3 solid for muscle building purposes. You can get all 3 from other sources but supplementing is much more cost effective

Some other solid supplements:
- Vitamins/Minerals (especially Vitamins C & E... and you should always take a multi)
- Arginine, Taurine, & most other Aminos
- ECA or NYC Stacks for fat loss/energy
- Alpha Lipoic Acid
- Fatty Acids (Flax, Olive, CLA, Fish Oils & Other omegas, etc.)
- Fruit Anti-oxidants
- Glucosamine
- Chondroiton
- Collagen (especially if you are older or an athlete)

There are many more I dont have the time to get into or cant think of off the top of my head right now. Bottom line is that if you can afford supplements, you should be taking them.

#1 all time best is:
FOOD, chicken (all lean meats); complex carbs

focus on that, supplements come in later in the game

good supps:
ECA, ALA, CLA, FLAX SEED OIL, multi protein blends, multi vitamin/mineral (very first supplement you should look into), glutamine
 
u should do a search, then ask specific questions...but the best supplement to put on size is a Wendy's Double Bacon Classic Cheeseburger...u can't beat it!!!
