Youll find some studies about bromocriptine/cabergoline and progesterone.
In all they lower prolactin.
In some they lower progesterone, in some dont in a few progesterone is increased (??); keep in mind that PREGNANT animals are often used, so its results may differ from man.
If someone wants to make a simple study, take a progesterone lab test, take bromo or dosti for 2 weeks, and repeat the lab test.
Keep in mind that eventually bromo/dosti may be banned since some studies in animals demonstrate that they may be used (tough not completely effective) as abortifacients.
1. After 4 days of consecutive bromocriptine serum progesterone lowered from 16.8 ng/ml to 3.8 ng/ml (about to one fifth) in hamsters
They used 1 mg subcutaneous, it will be interesting to find its human oral equivalent.

2. In other study bromocriptine reduced progesterone and prolactine in pregnant pony mares.

3. However in other study 2.5 mg twice daily in women failed to lower oestrogen and progesterone:

4. A bromocriptine analog actually increased oestrogen and prolactin in domestic hen.

5. A study with mixed results:

9. Cabergoline lowers progesterone in rats and terminates early pregnacy.
