stretching in the gym

I can barely touch my fucking knees I’m getting so inflexible. It’s to the point where after a good workout, if I actually do try and do a little stretching it hurts to much. I literally have to let my arms hang (bend over) to make my shoulders stop burning.
What do you guys do for stretching, or how many of you actually do it?
I mean, its so fucking boring, and I will start to do it, for a while but I never see any progress, so I get discouraged easily and stop. Do actually improve flexibility, does stretching need to be done on a daily basis?
I know this should be on the training board, but I realize not all of you always visit there and I wanted to make sure those of you who could shed a bit of advise, see this thread.

Stretching is extremely important. The more you can do the better. As often as you can. It will help if you can stretch while at work or on breaks or whatever...just bend over to try to touch your toes as often as you can...it will help.

I will warm up before a workout, but I never stretch. Stretching, according to the ISSA, will cause tears in the muscle and can reduce the strength for the workout. The only purpose of the stretch is to get blood to the muscle anyway. Therefore, it is more beneficial to warm up doing a few warm up sets. Stretching becomes important after your workout.

i started stretching for about 10 minutes before workouts a month ago and got immediate results. it takes almost no time to get your flexibility back if you consistently do it. i only stretch at the gym before workouts. i'm a big believer in it.

yea, dont stretch a cold muscle,i do 10 mins. of treadmill to warm up,then stretch for about 10,no doubt about it,only beneficial.

thanks for the advise, I will start to stretch after my workout. I will just have to force myself to do it. just one of those things that must be done I guess.
