Does anyone here take Strattera for adult ADD? Tell me about your experience.

gf's daughter takes it. Non-stimulant, helps her focus, but it isn't a cure-all. She's managable, we can actually explain the difference between right and wrong with her. She's only 7 though, so I know that's not what you're looking for, but it's probably the best I can do.

It did suppress her appetite for the first 2 weeks. For the first week and a half she was so calm you could skip a stone off of her like she was a mirror smooth lake. We were told it would have this effect at first, and she started on a lower dose for 4 days then went to an increased dose.

I popped one just to see what it'd do. Was pretty focused, pissed a lot, and became absorbed in my own little world. Weird shit.

Strattera will make you a very focused man who happens to also be impotent, suffer from urinary retention and have high blood pressure.

I took that stuff for a while. Too many side effects. BP, Dialated pupils (people always thought i was rolling) problems urinating, sometimes when I had to piss real bad next thing I know, bamn just had an orgasm. At the slightest hint of arousal I would cum. I will never take that stuff again.

Straterra is fairly new and there has not been a great deal of research done on it yet, but since it is not a stimulant like Ritalin or Adderall it seems to be a promising alternative to stimulants.

I took the straterra for a little over 2 1/2 weeks and really didn't notice a difference. After complaining of the sides they switched me to Ritalin and after a year of that I have now switched to Adderall.

I had the same problem with ephedrine. It sucked ass. Of course, I was taking 2, sometimes 3x the recommended dose, but that's not the point.

The two biggest downsides with ritalin and adderall is you build up a tolerance and it's an amphetamine. Plus potential for abuse is very high, no pun intended

Do you lift? You still gain ok on the ritalin and adderall?

Yes I do lift, it is a big part of my life. Taking the ritalin was not so bad because it was not one of the extended/long acting types. It was just plain old ritalin and it would begin to stop it's effects after about 2-4 hours so I could stop taking it and my appetite would start to come back. While on it though I would not want nor think about eating anything.

Now that I am on the Adderall it doesn't supress my appetite as much, but there is still a good degree of supression. I'm on the XR (extended release) and it seems to last most if not all of the day.

It is not a big issue right now as I am cutting, but if and when I start to bulk again I will probably just stop taking it as I cannot see myself being able to come close to putting down 4-5k a day.

Are you on Straterra now or are you looking to get on meds for ADD/ADHD? I was diagnosed with ADHD. The stimulants made everything a world of difference for me and retain so much more information than I used to. Hit me with a PM if you are searching for more information on all this.
