Strange muscle problem

I started training today after a summer off. As I was working chest w/ dumbells I noticed my right pec was much, much, much weaker than the right. Also, I could not flex the pec muscle on the right. What I mean, is no matter what I try and do, I can not get the pec on the right to tighten or flex. The one on the left is normal and gets hard when flexed. The one on the right stays soft no matter what I try.

So severe loss of strength and inability to tighten/flex a muscle on one side an not the other. No pain associated with it that I can tell. No injuries either.

Anyone else have any info to help me here, or ever have a similar problem?

Thanks.

this could be a nerve issue...meaning a nerve(s) is/are impeded, ie: blocked...deep tissue massage would be the first and easiest thing to do...this location in the body is affected by C-spine...C6-7....any neck injuries or shoulder problems?

a few weeks ago i had a consistent ache when i woke in my back between my shoulder blades...sort of a neck/ back ache. It seems to have stopped, but might that be a problem?

yes.......when the nerves are impinged at this location- that is typically where the pain will be felt...IMHO, i would seek out the fastest and easiest remedy...massage...this might take a few sessions...we also develope "Facia" tissue around muscles also from constant working out and developement...this is kind of like a very thin "saran wrap"- if you will, that- forms around the muscles....at some point have the therapist work on the chest to break this up...it will be painful, but you will feel alot better...from what it sounds like, your problem is in the area of C-spine and the muscles that surround that area....

Karma..Thanks. I was a little nervous, its almost like being paralyzed..I mean no strength at all in that pec muscle.
