Strange E-mails...

I always get these strange e-mails with no message, but with attachments. I'm not really sure how to read the attachments because I've never gotten a real one before. But I'm assuming that you just hit "save attachment" then open it from your computer, wherever you save it. Well, that's what i did once and it was nothing...sort of.

Anyways, that's not even my question. Do any of you guys get these messages in your elite account? I try to reply to them, but they always come back and say that the message was undeliverable because that e-mail account doesn't exist or something like that.

BTW, the one time I opened one of the attachments, it kinda of did something to my computer. After that, whenever i clicked on an icon on the desktop it didn't open the program, it opened the "properties" thing that you usually get by right-clicking and choosing from the pop-down menu. So don't open them if you do get them.

I usually never open attachments from any account other than my hotmail account, because no one else scans them for viruses.

Anyone get these fuckin things?

Yeah, sounds like a virus to me.

There was one that went around not too long ago that had the effects you're describing. It'd also delete antivirus software. Makes it kind of a pain to get rid of.

Yup..I think that's exactly what happened. I just restarted my computer and the problems stopped.

But that wasn't really my question...I wanna know what the fuck these e-mails are, and if I'm the only one getting them.

An easy way to look for viruses is open the "win.ini" file and look at the first 5 or so lines. If one is
Load=

Then look at the line. If its just
"Load="
then its nothing and you can delete the line.

If its
"Load= __________" ___ = some file, then it could be a virus, but you have to make sure its not something useful that runs when Windows starts....

If its
"Load= (then a TON of spaces) then a file name" (you'll probably have to scroll to the right) then it is almost certainly a virus. Do a search for the file, find out where it is, delete it, then delete the line out of the win.ini file.

You're not the only one getting them. I get them too every once in awhile. It just shows up as a blank message and then there's an attachment. If I decide to download the attachment then I just scan it with an antivirus program and open it up. For me, it's usually just a *.html or *.doc file. Just use common sense and be sure you're antivirus software is up to date and you should be ok.

I've never tried to reply to these messages so I'm not sure if the email addresses are valid or not.
