There is a large amount of data indicating that anabolic steroids may have some effect(s) on modulating the immune system. As with most potential side effects, this is largely dose and compound dependant. There is strong evidence that different analogues produce vastly different effects on the immune system. Testosterone and certain analogues have been shown to be possibly immunosuppressive, while Nandrolone and other steroids are possibly immunostimulating. Both, however, have been found to be beneficial when given to AIDS patients, who clearly have an already compromised immune system. This is because the increase in lean body mass that those steroids can provide is consistent with an enhanced ability to fight off infections, enhanced survival rates, and a better quality of life.

looking back on all of my cycles and comparing, i've always been more ill when adding tren into the mix than with test/deca.. coincidence? maybe

Yes, they CAN lower your immune system. That's just a medical fact.

I know a kid with an auto immune problem and he can't take them even under a doc's supervision.

If that is true, than why the hell they are giwing AS patients with AIDS and cancer, woudn't be that worse?!

Some can lower it, others can raise it. I would think that testosterone derived steroids are all kind of unique in their effects, DHT derivations would likely lower it, and 19-nors would likely raise it.

people with low natural test levels tend to get sick more often....so supplementing with HRT levels of hormones in theory could help elevate their immune system? If conditions such as HIV or cancer are affecting one's natural hormone levels, then it'd make sense that supplementing with A A S could boost their immune systems

otherwise, in healthy people, I think that the trend is A A S tends to lower immune function (with maybe the exception of de-ca for example)

My feeling is it weakens your imune system for the first few weeks. Of course I used to double up on a already heavy training routine.
Now I train almost the same (heavier, but not more sets) on cycle, as I would off cycle, and have had way less problems with common virus'.
