Steroids and health problems

New member
I would like to ask if anyone who has taken steroids has suffered permanent damage to their health as a result of steroid usage. A lot of problems may or may not have been caused by steroids. Such as the death of Lyle Alzado, there is no way to know if steroids or growth hormone caused his brain cancer. Liver problems, heart problems, these are things that could have certainly been caused by steroid usage. I have heard of a lot of cases of heart enlargement. I wonder about all the aging bodybuilders and if they are having problems. This is very important to me because I am older and have started taking steroids again. Mild dosages though. Just want to be as safe as possible.

The only thing steroids can do with things like cancer is accelerate it's emergence and growth. Alzado was reputed to be a hard core abuser of gear and needed somthing to blame for the results.

Gear used responsibly (under 1,000 mg/week max), and occassionally (no more than 3 cycles/year) will always have risks, but you greatly reduce those risks by HOW you use it. Nothing is 100% risk-free, but half the stuff the FDA approves can jack you up bad if you react to it wrong. Some of it will jack you up bad even if you respond as expected.

Do lots of research, and proceed one cycle at a time. You're considering using gear for one of the big reasons there is a push by some doctors to legalize it. Use it properly and older men can have more active and healthier lives without serious health risks as compared to just letting the body decay from age.

Baby Gorilla how you going to say that " the only thing steroids can do with things like cancer is accelerate it" bro keep thinking that. Do you relize what would happen to your liver if you just kept poppin D-Bols Or A-Bombs all year around. Now yes you can be safe and most of those guys back in the day did not take things to prevent sides like they do now. But the fact is steroids do and can cause cancer. Yes it's raer now because of the knowledge we have but ye it can cause not just accelertse it.I mean Personanly I SMOKE TO SO ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS FUCK IT. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOUR GOIN TO GO SO THATS WHY I DO BLOW.

You should be most concerned about your lipid profile, since damage done to your cardiovascular system is permament, it cannot be reversed. Your Liver has great healing capacities, even if it is under strain from a cycle, it will recover eventually. But you shouldn´t use orals anyway, most of them fuck with your Lipid profile really bad.
Go to the doc, get your HDL/LDL checked, as well as your blood pressure, which you should be monitoring by yourself anyway. When you´re there you should get your Liver enzymes done as well, it never hurts to know.
Almost any steroid can cause prostrate enlargement, if you got any problems taking a leak, get your prostrate checked, too. You might wanna take Proscar with your test, if there´s a problem.

Keep dosages low, do reasonable Cardio, get healthy fatty acids such as found in fish-oils, flax seed into your diet, and always have your cholesterol checked, especially at the end of each cycle. Hope I could help you, although I´m only 23 years old, I gave the long term effects a long thought, did my research, cause I´m concerned about my health at the age of 50, too.

my friend did so much gear that he turned into a silver back gorilla. He is strong as hell though.

Huh?

Perhaps I'm wrong, but all the research I did before using gear indicates that there are no carcinogenic compounds in gear. That means there is(are) no ingredient(s) that take healty cells and turn them cancerous like using tobbacco or other such compounds does.

However, supposedly we all have cancerous cells (some more than others) that are dormant. Gear can trigger such a cell into becoming malignant before it's time. That's not "cancer causing," it's "cancer acelerating."

If you have info on how gear creates cancerous cells, I sincerely do want to hear it. I'd rather avoid gear that is known for it's carcinogenic properties.

Remember one thing: everybody's body will react differently to the side effects of AAS so with that in mind being on gear should make you more vigilant in changes and complications but not paranoid.

I thought it was established that Alzado's story was a cover up for AIDS...BTW It seems weird he's the only person I have ever heard of with such grave consequences from using HGH and Gear.

I'm 40 and been doing gear for 19 years off and on........DAMN ITS GOOD TO HEAR SUCH SOUND ADVICE FROM A YOUNG BRO! This bro is right on the money. I will jsut add a few things to his good advice

#1. Risk BY FAR is a crappy lipid profile and resulting arterial plaque build up that can lead to heart disease. The 17aa orids are by far the worst and that includes winstrol injectable and anavar.

#2. Liver failure and cancer from prolonged use of 17 aa roids and that includes winstrol injectable and ananvar.

There really is no need to use any 17aa roid but most young men will not listen to that advice. One can accomplish all your goals in training with only two hormones ...Test and tren PERIOD! Personally I rarely advise that anyone go over a gram of test per week and 75 of tren per day. Always use as little gear as possible.
For a sound balanced approach please read about Quadsweeps current cycle..and he is a national level competitor that is far above his natural maximum lean weight.

#3. Accelerated prostate cancer growth if you already have even a tiny amount present.

#4. Permanent shut down of HPTA. NEVER do long cycles. If you can't make great gains in 8-10 weeks with decent front loads of injectables then you shouldn't be using steroids. Also be sure to practise time on = time off so your body gets a chance to normalize and so you are not walking around with a shitty cholesterol profile the majority of the year.
If you get nut shrinkage use some HCG...500iu's/day for a couple weeks before clomid.

Steroid use can be pretty safe IF you know what you are doing. Not a few men should never do steroids since they have such a high genetic profile for heart disease.
Be damn sure to be followed with blood work....lipid profile and liver enzymes....also watch the blood pressure.
