Steroids-statute of limits 02-01-2004 03:57 (#1518895)
I was prescribed anabolic steroids some years ago by an MD. having them prescribed led me to do online research about them.

In doing research I found some web sites about steroids, read alot of posts and actually learned some things. Then I became friends with some of the virtual people. I found soon it would be cheaper to get the testosterone through people I met.

So I began ordering steroids. I still saw a medical doctor, still got blood tests and check ups - but got steroids in this manner.

I now see it was a penny wise pound foolish idea. I have decided to go back to doing it all through legitimate medical channels.

I have years of posts on these websites- many just friendly chat, but many about having bought such and such steroid through the internet admitting to certain things. Probably a couple of thousand posts discussing buying and using underground steroids.

I have never had a shipment seized by customs. Its possible that people I ordered from may be caught or perhaps have even been caught dealing - and of course the police would have their computers, maybe with my email addy and ordering information.

At what point could I consider myself safe from being arrested for these things? Are they using special computer searching software to dig up old emails sent 2 years ago. Can the evidence of someone elses computer lead them to me. Can they trace IP addys from my posts on these other sites?

Oh, I had ordered some ancillaries from a research chemical site on two occasions - for chems that are used to offset the effects of steroids. If these companies are deemed illegal and are busted, since I paid with a Credit card they will no doubt have record of my order.

What is the statute of limitations on getting nabbed for this - especially considering I did have medical prescriptions for about a year of my steroid use?

First off, your legitimate prescriptions do not justify any purchase of AAS through the "black market." Realistically though, you should not be too concerned. Without being found "in possession" of AAS, it would be much too difficult to make any kind of case against someone based on statements that were made on an anonymous message board...extreme lack of evidence.

As far as the credit card situation goes...there's always a possibility but it's just not realistic...I mean how can they prove that you accepted a particular package and that the package contained an illegal substance? Conspiracy is always a possibility but again there are sufficiency of evidence issues.

My advice would be to avoid these "risky" behaviors in the future. Happy New Year!!!:D
