As long as their bones aren't fused yet, some doctors will prescribe growth hormone therapy for teenagers that are short/small for their age. Saw a story/report on TV about this a few years ago. Considering that the maximum age for someone's bones to fuse is something like 20, if you're much older than that, you're only options are elevator shoes and a closer look at your posture. I'm about average (just under 5'10"), but my ex is tall (5'11") and had always been self-concious about her height even before I met her. It seemed to me that she used bad posture when she was standing and walking because of her being uncomfortable with her height. By paying extra attention to keep your posture in check, you may be able to add 1/2" or more to your apparent height. And it has really surprised me down through the years just how many short people I've known who wore elevator shoes.
