Staying in touch

DR. NOE

I left a lot of friends behind to take my job 19 years ago. When you leave somewhere and moved half way across the country, you are as good as dead to your friends. People seem to assume that you will somehow be swallowed by the teeming masses of big cities and humidity. When I announced my decision to move, all my friends did the traditional sobbing and letter promising. No one stayed in touch except for one friend. Maybe it's a guy thing, my wife still keeps in touch with all her old friends.

I moved away from my home town.
And stayed 17 years.. And lost touch with
my closest frinds. And then I moved back a few
years back and it's still not the same.

People grow up and grow apart..
It's really a shame....

I graduated high school almost 4 years ago and I try to keep in touch with alot of people. At first it was easy but as I started working part time jobs and going to school and stuff it gets hard to find time to do anything. I think now its easier though because we have the internet and with AIM you can kinda write to them real time so its not much different. The internet helped alot in that sence.
