SRRIs and NYC?

2Shy

New member
I read (I think on this board) that you shouldn't take Prozac with Yohimbin (sp?). Does this apply to other SRRIs (e.g., paxil, zoloft)? If this is the case, you shouldn't take NYC at the same time, right?

What about taking something topical like Yohimburn with an SRRI?

it was me who said that. when i was on prozac recently i did alot of research on shit i take psuedo regularly to see if there might be probs. it says that at high doses yohimbine hcl either turns into or mimics a MAO inhibiter. MAO Inhibiters can potentially cause death when taken with prozac ect. i understand that now there are antidepressants that arent ssris.

Thanks, Sinister. I looked up yohimbin (however it's spelled!) and paxil on a website that was supposed to show compatibility issues, but got nothing. I've been toying with trying NYC, but guess I won't.

yohimbine is a VERY WEAK mao inhibitor.. at much higher dosages there might be a problem.. but not with NYC or Yohimburn (less so even as mao effects are even less with topical).. warnings exist solely because they are industry standard..

the effect is VERY short term as well... like 10-15 minutes at most.. noticeable if snorted at the 10-20mg range..

as stated before yohimbine hcl 5.4 mg presciption tabs were often used as an adjunct with prozac.. for impotence associated with use..
