Spot injections into spinal erectors?

Peyomp

New member
Anyone see anything wrong with doing spot injections into spinal erectors? Anyone, like powerliftes trying to increase their deadlift weight, do this?

damn, i thought I was nuts.

Have you looked at any type of anatomy chart. I would think it would be loaded with nerves and arteries.

Yeah bro, you'd need a PhD and MD in Anatomy and Physiology to be able to do this. I prefer being able to walk myself.

I'm not suggesting hitting the spine... I'm talking about the spinal erectors. Don't see why there'd be more blood vessels running through them than was required to support their functioning.

There isn't a single shred of evidence that injecting into a particular muscle will make it stronger. So the risk benefit ratio leans heavily towards the don't do it side.

Are you the same guy that asked about buying a fina gun and implanting pellets into your teabag awhile back?

btw site injections can weakon the injected muscle due to scarring. Besides the obvious problems with nerves and vessels. You will also increase the risk of muscle tears.

Hell I could probably do it since mine seem so abnormally large. Ever since I started doing deads and reverse hypers my erectors protrude like straps of loins, but no way in hell I'm sticking a needle in that area, thats a little too much.

Hi mates!

I'm not posting much at all, but this demands an answer.

Like posted above "there is no evidence showing that site injection is beneficial" this is a fact so helloo.... Why even bother to put yourself into that missery..

Just do yourself a favour stick to the normal sites.

About the scarring inside muscles, these will be minimalised since it is not really a knife you are putting in there... I think there would be alot of guys having trouble with their glutes, thighs etc..

good luck.

Even though I think this is a joke..i will offer my answer....don't do it...if by chance you get an abcess or infection in this area the last thing you will care about is bigger erectors.

You'd have to be an idiot to go through with spot injecting any muscle that's in such close proximity to the spinal chord. The nerve density is so high that only a doctor with specialized training can do it safely. I know this because two years ago I was having bad back problems. A doc in my hometown who is an anesthesiologist and pain specialist injected the spasming spinal erectors to give me relief. Well, the next day when I was back at school (different city), the freezing came out. I went to a walk-in clinic and asked the general practitioner there to repeat the procedure. He refused immediately, citing the risks. I was mad, and told him that there was already a needle mark there to guide him....but there was no way he'd risk it. If a medical doctor is wary of injecting the spinal erector, why in blue blazes would you even consider risking it??? (BTW, this applies to the traps to, for those of you considering spot injecting there.)

BTW it's the erector spiney muscle, and it is very thick, about the size of your rist on both sides of the spine..you would have to use a pretty big needle to get throught to the other side...there is no reason to inject here..at all..pick another spot as there are plenty of them.
