splitting Finasteride in 1mg doses

I am going to order finasteride for hair reasons, but more importantly for my prostate while on. The site I have as reputable offers great prices on 5mg tablets. But, I know the normal dose is 1mg in the morning. How do you split such a small pill into five equal parts. I can see there being a pill splitter that does it in equal 1/4's but 1/5ths not so sure. Please advise. Thanks,

most just take it in fourths. but you can chip it up into fifths. i've done it many times. if i chip in fourths, so be it for that pill. if i get lucky and get 5 pieces, so be it for that pill. so on and so forth. use a sharp knife and be careful.

your gonna have a damn hard time splitting it into 5hts. just split it into 1/4 and you'll have 1.25mgs.

The difference between the two dosages is negligable.

there are pill splitters in wal-mart in the pharmacy section. its got a razor on a flip top. but when doing 4ths/5ths i use a knife. cut in half, the splitter is what i use. but you can try the splitter, its good to have around anyway.
