Speeding Ticket.....bastard COP.

Doing 16 over on a rural road...usually these roads aren't posted, so the limit is 55.....anyhoo...He popped me doing 61 in a 45. Asked me how my record was...I told him good, that I didn't have any points....I was polite, didn't make excuses, and was respectful.

He comes back and says, "Well it is posted 45, you need to slow it down, so I didn't write you for the entire 16 over"...I took the ticket, and said thanks (why, I don't know). I look at the ticket, and he wrote it fot 15 over. What a cocksucker.......on a street that has nothing but farmland....I know I broke the limit, but give me a break, and more than 1 MPH.

I'm expecting it to be a $200 ticket, and 3-4 points. I hope my insurance company doesn't find out.

I wonder if I should fight it, just in case the cop doesn't show up....or ask the judge to take it under advisement.

I get a lawyer everytime and get it thrown out because the cop never shows. However this is in a big city. I don't know about rural areas. I would call an attorney that specializes in traffic tickets, they will keep it off of your record. It's all a game.
 
The insurance company will find out one way or another.

There may be a way out of this. There is a little known law that lets you get away with speeding if you are a certain distance away from any signs. I can’t remember what that distance is. And it might not be in every state but you should look into it.

I'm pretty sure insurance companies come down on your hard for anything over 15pmh plus I think the ticket cost jumps also. I think under 15 is 2 points. I was doing 74 in a 45 one time and it was 3 points. He said if would have been doing 1 more MPH, the cost would have jumped from 160 to 260.
 
similar situation here, fuckin cop pulled me over for doin 60 in a 45 right infront of the "45 ends" road sign
i fought it and lost :(
 
The last ticket I got was when I was 16.....my insurance company never found out. It is a random check they do and I understand that if your carry a clear record, they check less often.
 
The last time my GF got pulled over for speeding by a stater, she tried to sweet talk the cop out of giving her a ticket, so she says smiling at him
"I know why you pulled me over, you just wanna sell me a ticket to the pollicemans ball"
so the cop says to her: "mam state trooper's DON'T HAVE BALLS"
My gf started lol so hard he turned red, jumped in his car and took off with out writing her a ticket

But seriously, I got a DUI about five years ago. I think you're right about that random check thing, because my insurance company never acknowledged it. My rates even went down since then.
 
30% of all fatal accidents involve speed in excess of the posted limit /road conditions, while 40% involve alcohol consumption over .02.
 
I've used this before when stopped for speeding...Weather was clear, open road and no cars within 10 cars of me front/rear... decided to go a bit faster in a safe manner. Wasn't weaving or being reckless, maintaining the speed you got me at...

Judge was okay, you were rational in your reason for going over the speed limit. ticket dropped
 
I was driving once down a rural road doing like 45. There was no posted speed limit anywhere. Well suffice to say I got pulled over by the local small town pig. He said I was doing 15 over. I said 15 over what. He said 30. I said I didn't see a sign anywhere. He said it doesn't matter. In the rural county I was in it was always 30 if you didn't see a sign. He gave me the ticket any. Jackass.
 
Once I was driving down a road.
 
Small town cop gave me a ticket. Come to find out he use to work in my hometown...even gave my brother-in law a ticket in the same excat mannerism. I alos found ouot he was forced to resign from that town because of his anal and harassing ways. I'm really contemplating taking this to court.
 
I don't want to fight it, because if I lose then they will reissue the ticket for 16 over instead of 15....I just want to ask the court to take it under advisement.

Maybe next time you'll slow down before you mow over some 6 year old autistic kid who wanted nothing more than to sit unsupervised in the middle of the road, rocking back and forth slowly. You fucking negligent monster.
