I'd get those shoes with the platform in the forefoot. They're proven to work.

Plyometrics are where it's at.

power cleans, hang cleans, hang snatch, power snatch, squat, lunges and of course plyos(i.e. Box jumps,etc.)
 
plyos are the best. i got on a program after knee surgery and man did that work. you can do a general search for exercise ideas, there are a ton and don't require the purchase of special equipment. can make most of it on your on at home. one that is really good is taping on the floor a square box with four squares inside it. with feet together, jump back and forth between the inner boxes. you can change up the patterns you are jumping and the time you do it for.

All those + pullins sleds, running uphill and running with weight vest.

I like all of the above and throw in a grueling session of sprints at the end and your all good
