Sources need to set a new policy - that they will only deal with someone who does regular updated virus scans on their computer.

There are several viruses that use a computer's email interface to auto send viruses without the owner of the infected computer knowing about it. The viruses take the address book of the infected computer and send infected emails to everyone in the address book... and then the viruses use the address book to create fictional "senders" names on the email.

Anyone you exchange emails with becomes a sender and receiver of infected emails.

A couple people on EF are infected, and they appear to have been infected for a long time with KLEZ and SOBIG viruses. I keep getting emails with the names of their sources as the senders.

This is an incredible breech of common sense, and I can guarantee you sources do not want their email addresses being sent to everyone on the planet.

If you have not done an updated virus scan recently - you may be the one with an infected computer.

Besides, unless you are aware they are a source, its just another email address

SoBig virus infected email has an attachment of about 90-100K with PIF (process interchange format) . Do not open this type of attachment.

There's nothing in the body of the email so what does it really matter.

Very good idea I believe, it's a doggy dog world out there, and I don't want to be the one wearing milk bone underwear!

goto http://housecall.antivirus.com scan for viruses, then never run a stupid .exe you download off kazaa or got in an email.. and scan once a week..

o yeah, that is my antivirus plan for most people... housecall is a good java based web scanner, so u dont have to install anything, and that means it is always up to date !!
