Only those who have served will ever understand it. I actually lied to my ex-wife about my service because I knew she would have questions that I couldn't give her the answers she would want. I've had some great conversations with some Vietnam vets over a beer.BIKINIMOM said:I was raised with stories about the inhumanities of WWII then of the revolution of 1956.
Now I am married to a man who defended a country that shit on him for his service.
It's all good. He bears no resentment.
But I am livid for many reasons.
They had some good stuff on the History channel this morning about the Enterprise, 20 battle starts during WWII, three more than any other ship and seven more than any other carrier.superdave said:Thats one old school dude.
I originally saw that interview and footage on a Military history channel program. I remembered the name, searched the interwebs and I ended up finding it. I'm a letter writer for veteran's issues, my representative is on the armed forces committee.Army Vet said:Good vid.
I am POd about the way vets get treated in this country - especially the way some prics are vandalizing recruiting stations etc.
Too many have served and are then forgotten.
I first saw it on TV and I've posted it a few times. I watched the series, there is a series called "The Color of War" that uses footage and letters like the Burns documentary.SouthernLord said:That was a great vid. I have seen it before somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it. Repost? Have you guys seen any of The War by Ken Burns? I watched quite a bit of it on PBS. I have been meaning to buy it though.
