email and IM is the best way of communication.

problem is people are stuck in manhattan. I went to the Williamsburg bridge and it seemed like they were letting people out of Manhattan but not into Manhattan. People were walking over the highway which is closed. There are a lot of people who will have a hard time getting home. No subway are running.All bridges and tunnels shut down


cellular service is down. My residential phone service is down. Thank god they kept my DSL going. dial-up internet probably does not work since there is no dial tone.

My sister-in-Law has a Nextel phone and was able to get some incoming calls. I was able to get one phone call out on my AT&T celly and it is not sending calls even though I have a network.

Also be aware you can send text messages to some cell phones if you know the receivers cell provider.I am not sure if the will recieve it. My sister in law was able to listen to her messages but can not respond to them.

Thanks, LT, for the helpful information. I'm sure I speak for everybody in other parts of the country when I say how incredibly sad and angry I am over this insane, senseless attack on your city, as well as other targets. All our thoughts and prayers are with the people of New York today. It's unspeakable ... I am so sorry.
