Software to play DVDs

I just put in a DVD ROM drive and don't have any software to play anything. Is there any freeware for this? I downloaded Power DVD XP 4.0 on Kazaa but it won't install without a serial number.

No, I got an open box drive. It didn't even come with installation instructions.

You can try DX01866826450283 for the serial for Power DVD. I downloaded a free player of download.com but I don't remember what it was. When it installed it gave me the DVD plug in so I could play dvds with media player so I don't even use the dvd player I downloaded.
