ok, i was thinking about something the other day. white folks build a bunch of houses together, put a fence around it and call it a sub-division, the same thing in a black neighborhood is called a housing project. lol, that's just crazy.

i'll try to think of more, meanwhile anyone here have anything to add, i'd like to hear some.

well it's kind of a race issue, i mean, two similar things are called two different names where race is different. it's not a bad thing i just think it's funny.

Not exactly...the white folks that live in the so called sub division actually own those houses in it..Those projects are funded by the property taxes the people in said sub division live. Two different things, but related none the less.

Actually, if there is a fence around it, it is often times called a Planned Community. Nonetheless, your analogy is wrong, since, as VIC has stated, the former is payed for by the individual, while the latter is the materialization of a government program, i.e. "project". Not to mention that my neighborhood and most that I have lived in are mixed with people of varying racial backgrounds, all who have one thing in common: they paid for their homes.
