Just finished learning Aces High...been playing.. 6 months-ish.
 
I've played alot of guitar in the past. I can copy people well, but I was never able to write my own shit so I quit. I used Ibanez and Jackson guitars...Crate, and Marshal amps....various effects pedals, boxes etc. My faforite was the MXR Distortion box...awesome IMO.

I used to practace pentatonic scales for hours when I was younger, but blues scales once I was a little older. There are a couple of blues scales that account for like 70% of the best riffs in rock and roll history.
 
and you couldnt make ur own shit up? dude i know c major, c dorian, lydian and c pent. and i can write shit + like octaves, power chords, and c major + sus chords.
 
I have a seagull acoustic
used to have a PRS Custom 22 but I needed the money so I sold it :(

I absolutely love my seagull.. i like it better than my bro's $2000 martin . . .
I got it on eBay for $300

I felt I had not talent. I still pick up an acoustic an play somtimes, but it's never me...it's always me trying to copy someone else. No one can duplicate the Jimmy Pages, Eddie Van Halens, Eric Claptons....the Jimi Hendrixs' etc.

I took up the drums soon after I realized I had no guitar talent....keeping time is keeping time..plain an simple. Drums are nothing but math and counting. I can deal with that. All beats are copied...the only difference is, some play faster than others.
 
I've been playing, badly, for almost forty years.

For gear I have a 1966 Fender Telecaster that I've had since 1979, a Rickenbacker 610-12 12-string electric, and a Hofner flattop acoustic. For amplifiers I have a '63 Fender Deluxe-Amp, a '65 Fender Champ-Amp, a '65 Vox Cambridge Reverb, and an amp I assembled myself, a clone of the 18-watt Marshall #1974.

I mostly amuse myself by playing old Beatles, Who, and Kinks songs, with the occasional Led Zep lick.

hardest song I know.. that is tough, probably Master of Puppetts when played at the right tempo.

stuff like that has happened a lot lately. I've seen entire threads dissapear for no apparent reason.

The Mexican Strats and Teles are fine instruments for a bargain price. The 50s Classic and 60s Classic models are especially nice.
