So I saw Matrix Reloaded...

Very disappointed. The 1st one was much better. Not sure where they are going with the plot on this one. The action sequences were awesome though but some had nothing to do with the plot at all. The fight scenes were basically just thrown in there to an otherwise boring plot. They weren't stingy on the special effects atleast. The movie ends abruptly which was obvious and had the theatre all booing as they left.

you saw a very different movie than I did my friend.

I loved it, it was 2 and 1/2 hrs long and felt like it was only an hour long.

the fight scenes rocked, definetly buying this one on DVD.

I gave a couple reasons why I didn't like this movie. It was "alright" and that's it. I agree the fight scenes "rocked" but takes more than that to make a good movie. 1st was far superior

In the 1st neo's fights were made to show he was getting stronger and stronger. They had a purpose.

In this one the fight scenes seemed to be just thrown in. Take the fight with the asian guy, the protector of the oracle. It was a awesome scene but pretty much worthless to this plot.

Everyone I went with agreed the movie was actually boring. I'm sure many that aren't so easily entertained will be disappointed as well.

Maybe my group just didn't like it but I thought the movie was very disappointing. The action did live up to the hype but the movie itself was far behind.

What a horrible movie!!! I just walked in from seeing it. I watch about 2 movies a year and I wasted one of them watching this crap. Sorry, but i thought this was crap!

i was surprised ppl actually liked this movie. to say its a great movie doesn't make sense to me. The action sequences were top notch but not even put into the plot well.

Also the Trinity stuff was over done. The love story crap hurt this movie and the plot. Where in the 1st one it was just a nice side thing.

I didn't see it yet but probably will. I'm not surprised by the bad reviews. I didn't feel the movie needed a sequal not that that's ever stopped anyone from making a sequel. Plus a lot of what made Matrix 1 so good was the wow factor because it was new and original. Well I've seen enough bullets going in slow motion with the 360 degree camera shot to last a lifetime.

yea. The first was good. The second was there to get our $$$ because we are suckers. The 3rd will be there because we are suckers ans will shell out the $$$

"The Matrix" was a classic, one of a kind, nothing will ever match it. The Matrix Reloaded was loaded with fucking air. I was so pissed. I knew that the 2nd one wasn't going to be good as far as plot, because the story really takes place in the last movie. We'll have a lot of questions answered there. For now, I'll be obsessed with trying to figure out if there was anything hidden in Reloaded. Special effects, nothing ever like it. Story line didn't start until the last 20-30 minutes of the movie. What the fuck was going on?

I agree 100%.

If you like special effects, this is the movie for you. Other then that, it's funny how the movie evolved from Matrix 1 to Matrix reloaded. The music was bad ass, the charactors where bad ass, everything pretty much were all good, except for the story.

I thought the fight scenes were great. Twice as good as the first one, which is half of what made it great. The scene with Neo in the courtyard with the numerous agent smith's was totally awesome.

Now the movie took itself way too seriously. It became all epic and like another star wars with prophecies, and governments, and all kinds of beurocratic crap. It was way too big scale. Really lame dialogue that I couldn't take seriously.

I basically went because I had the opportunity to, so what the heck. I didn't plan on it but someone asked me so I went. I thought the story would be lame but not quite that lame. It did have great scenes though. It disappoints me though when movies try to become larger than life. It's retarded.

WATERWORLD PART 2!

The first one was a fun movie, but it was by no means a "Good" movie. So I am not surprised, everyone's puny little minds are stimulated by fight scenes and explosions, its embarrasing.

Yes the first film was like someone was smoking crack! They had to go on a "Trip" to write the story! Neat, Cool Etc! But for the second one someone was really smoking crack and I think they were sucking some dick to get all of the money for it's budget!

Damn. I thought it would be awesome.

Maybe the movie would of been better, if Neo took the other pill at the begining.

No its hard for movie studios to take chances anymore! Kids love these crappy movies because it's an excuse for them to try to feel up their g-friends and vise versa! For the rest of us it sucks!

I think what you see with the Matrix Reloaded is an attempt to really make more of a piece of art thent he first movie.

The first movie was just a razzle dazzle thrill ride... the story was copies from Terminator 2 (machines take over the world) and Total Recall (life is really a dream, its not real).. they threw in some special effects and a new generation was WOWed...

But I felt like a monkey watching the first movie.. it was beyond basic... you really didn't have to have half a brain to follow the plot and to guess what was going to happen next.. it was almost insulting.

It like like eating a piece of candy.. it tastes great for a minute... but ultimately its just a cheap thrill.

The second movie TRIED to go way beyond the second. They threw in scenes like the big party/dance that were long and rich... they were not just kicking and shooting scenes..

They delved into some of the oldest philosophical debates.. mainly, causality... they took the story to a much deeper and more complex level.

And of course when you do this.. you are going to offend and upset the simpletons... the people who just didn't get it and hence thought it was boring.

I had to spend an hour explaining most of it to my roommate afterwards.. and by looking at the crowd walking out I could tell that many people were in the same boat.. people were like "So Zion is part of the matrix? its all make believe?"..... sad, very sad.

I really admite what the Wachowski brothers did in this film they made a solid attempt at making a movie that will stand up over time.. something more epic then the first.. something worthy of the hype.

I wouldn't say that they fully succeeded, but I'd say they came very close. The movie still isn't an intellectual masterpiece... but again it makes up for the little it lacks but some state of the art special effects and action packed scenes.

Exactly! The concept is just to dumbed down for me! I want it in a book form type movie like DUNE not a music video!

Lestat is trying to justify his $10

Trust me.. the 2 hours and 20 minutes spent watching it is worth far more to me then $10.. but I don't need to justify anything.

If written by the right person it could make an outstanding book.

But I like the special effects and action scenes the movie used.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE MANY AGENT SMITHS THAT WAS IN MATRIX RELOADED?

Good explanation. Most came there expecting it to be this monumental film when it wasn't and was never supposed to be. They probably knew people would say this which is why Revolutions is coming out in 6 months. Some say it was boring but it was something called plot development. You rarely ever see a sequel top the first excluding Empire Strikes Back. No one had ever seen stuff like the Matrix had which is why it was so successful. I can bet almost 75% of the people in the theater didn't even understand what the architect of the Matrix was even talking about. Most of the people just didn't look like they had the mental capacity to get it. The movie had awesome fight seens, a good love story, good acting(didn't expect this one), and awesome plot developement. I admit that it wasn't as good as the first. I didn't go in there expecting that. I never even saw a preview. I would purposely change the channel so I didn't too hyped up about it. Overall I thought it was a very good movie for being a sequel

Dude you're clueless ;) It did end abrubtly, but more of a cliffhanger ending, no booing or upset talk in the screening I was in.

Fights in 2 also showed he was getting stronger, although mostly just good fight scenes.

The asian guy fight is what clued him in that the Oracle and her protector weren't human....

edit: Lestat hit most of the other points I would have made had I not replied right away... Overall, it was worth the money.

It was a great movie. The effects in this film have set new standards for movie making everywhere, it deserves your utmost respect. As for saying the plot was incomplete, do some research first. The 2nd and 3rd parts were written as one story, i.e. having one climax and resolution... I think they did a good job by stopping it where they did, not too conclusive, not too inconclusive.

What are you talkin about? That movie was great. And there was tons of plot. Its just after speaking to most people who saw it, they obviously werent paying attention enough to see how much story line was in it. And your right. if your watching it passively. Then you wont come away with anything more than a few crazy action scenes. But if you try and put some thought into, and paid attention for the dialogue. Youd see that this probably has more plot in it than the first one.

But agreed, some action scenes didnt really fit. Like when he had to fight the "guardian"... what was that all about.

"Take me to the oracle"
"okay but first one thing"
"wack wack, bam, block block, kick"
"Okay, now lets go"

i just didn't like the plot this time. i knew i'd get the i'm an idiot replies because i didn't understand the movie. i just didn't think this was as good as the 1st. most will find this movie boring

LOL. Was just joking.

I was talking to a friend about it, probably going to see it again this weekend with him; and he thinks he'll like it better because he didn't like the first one too much the first time seeing it because it was too preechy (his opinion improved after watching it on DVD a time or two); thinks he'll enjoy just seeing some good fight scenes in the 2nd and not having to think about it if he doesn't want to :)
