The dean was on a warpath and sent several students home for having their shirts untucked.... They were pissed and refused to leave or tuck their shirts in.. All they had to do was tuck their shirts in and they could have stayed, but they had to prove how gangster they are.... I got called down to either make them leave or have them tuck their shirts in.. I'm standing in the middle of about 20 pissed off gangster students telling them to tuck their shirts in... Well as you can guess they just looked at me.. so I had to start writing their car tag #'s down as the dean was about to call the police.... For just a second there, I thought these angry young men might jump me... Why didn't they just tuck their shirts in?

Shirts need to be tucked in for safety reasons... They agree to the rules before they enroll... Several were sent home today for wearing the wrong shoes, not wearing goggles in areas where they were required, etc.. Rules are in place for a reason... some people just don't like them so they refuse to follow them.

"I need to sign out he says." I inform him that you cannot sign out if you are not back by 11:30 pm. He tells me he just needs to turn around so he can exit out... but instead he drives to the back of the lot, parks and goes into the building... biteme, you should read a book called "influence" by a dr robert chialdini. its all about how to get people to do what you want. its pretty much the bible of being a doorman, because my job (apart from getting numbers from hot chicks lol) is to tell people "no" without having them punch my face in - which is kinda funny, cos im a greek guy telling 15+ guys all out on some white guys bucks/stag night to F off - and as you know, telling people "no" is a really difficut thing, because they get really mad, and because youre the one telling it to them, theyll get mad at YOU instead of the rule/law/whatever.

could save you a lot of grief.

I would like to read a few of those books, although I'm good at deflecting people's anger because I usually explain that it's nothing personal... I'm the only guard to have never been threatened directly or cursed out by a student (except once that I remember)... Could be that I look crazy and have big muscles though. haha
