in the parking lot of work saturday sometime.
I only have liability on it since its a 91 van. Is there any way possible i can get them to pay for my very dented in door?
I mean, if you are on the clock and you go to some other store, you get in a wreck, the company you work for is liable.....why not if your in the parking lot because your working?
I dont know if u can get this , but i dont know how much it will cost to get the van fixed. it aint much but its mine

me too:(
they tried looking at video to see if they could get the tag number of the ILLEGAL hit and run but they couldnt
i was all prepared to go cops on em, and send them a bill and a name from 1800 get sued quick
hehe

highly doubtful your work is liable.

Those parking lot cameras can't see shit. My baby got broken into once (smashed window, they fucked up and couldn't get the cd player out) and it was like little dots on the screen , couldn't make out anything

didn't know.

at least you were not inside as it happened.

Shit happens, but your emplyer is not liable, since it is not an work-related accident (you were not on your way to the office, at least that it how it works here)

I guess if you really could find some way to prove that they were in some way negligent. I don't practice in your state and have not researched the case law, so I'm not giving you any legal advice. There are cases where people held shopkeepers liable because of inadequate lighting/security in their parking lots. It all comes down to proximate cause. However, I don't think it would be judicious to sue your company if you want to continue to work there. They would probably come up with some pretextual reason to can you later or to make your life difficult.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Stinks!

Sorry this happened klu. I dont think that you will be able to get your work to fix it with out a long lengthly fight for it. Do you have standard insurance coverage? If so then go ahead and talk to the insurance adjusters about it and see what they can do.

It might be worth reporting to the police in case someone confesses but it'll probably be a waste of time unless you plan also to make an insurance claim.

That sucks. :(

Sorry Klu, maybe you can just have someone get a dent puller and pull it out. Shops highly over-estimate their work assuming insurance will pay. You may get a local shop to do it for a couple hundred. Best of luck!

There had to have been paint transfer.
I would go out to your van and see what color was tranfered to it.
I would then call every body shop in the phone book and tell them you are looking for a vehicle of said color that hit and run your van. Tell them you are broke and don't have the money to fix it yourself. Let them know what color your van is also as your van will have transfered its color onto the other persons car. Ask them to call if anything that matches shows up.
I would also ask for their fax number. Then send them all the info on a fax that they can keep.
File a report with the police. Let them know you have alerted all the body shops too.
I would further tell the body shop owner that you will get your work done there if they report the guy if he/girl if they show up.
That would be nice publicity for the body shop if they helped solve a crime too.

dang:(
i didnt want work liable or nothing, just checking to see if they had insurance to cover mishaps like that:( which they dont
so im gonna be driving a van with a dented in side for a couple days
and im not a sex predator dang, i paid 25 bucks and a 35 inch tv for this van, its very valuable
ohh ill go take a pic of it
