So 1 year and 6 months ago we bought a new washer and dryer...

We buy a new washer and dryer (at Sears) just over a year ago and got the extended warranty on the washer but not the dryer. Why? Because my wife likes to save a few bucks.

Guess what doesn't work now?

It took my wife over a MONTH to pick out a make and model back then. Why so long? Because she wants to get the best deal possible. We visited over 10 places and drove a gazillon miles to save $50 on a dryer.

Guess what I get to do today? Start the process all over again.

BTW it was a Whirlpool.

I'll see you all in a month because I am going to be sucked into visiting every appliance maker in a 50 mile radius and that takes some time...

wtf that kind of process makes me insane. she sounds an awful lot like my cheap husband. Im the opposite, i dont want to shop around. i will go to the store where i know will likely have lowest/lower prices and then just make a purchase.
a month? id shoot myself

lol sorry!

If it makes you feel any better my oven went out. No idea what is wrong with it. Oh well guess I won't cook. ;)

I am the same way. If I wore the pants I would have been out, purchased the dryer already, and have it installed by now (seriously).

Time to head out to see what we can find. We are going to Sears first to see if we can buy the extended warranty (that would be an easy fix). If not then I think my wife is going to get a repairman which is $65, plus all he does is diagnose it, we have to wait for a second guy to come out to fix it. My Sunday & Monday is ruined now.

Plus it is tax free weekend - crowds up the yazoo. fvk me.

pm coming your way. I might be able to help. :)

ALWAYS count on the 2nd link in the chain conking out first. If the washer doesn't work you don't do anything. If the dryer conks out then you're stuck with soaking wet clothes that you'll end up rewashing, hence the "Shit Luck Theory" states the dryer will go first.
