I'm against it.

they are about to pass a law to make it illegal in restaurants.

What are your opinions on it?

think it will drive business away or to you?

You can still smoke in restaurants there? Holy shit.

It is illegal to even smoke in bars here... Which I like, except for one thing. I LOVE hanging out on a patio in the summer and getting some wings & beer (gotta love greasy bar food!). Now, since people can't smoke in bars anymore... Where do they all go for a smoke? That's right. Out to the patio... Which ruins my whole "hangin' on the patio with some wings & beer on a nice summer day" experience. Fuggin' bullshit.

in kc they are voting today - one issue is if people should be allowed to smoke on sidewalks.

u already cant smoke in bars/restaurants. u can still smoke in a casino though

i like it. already law here for all public places inside and within so many feet of an entrance to a public place. i dont smoke so it doesnt bother me. initially bars lost some business but have slowly regained it. now people just go outside the minimum footage to smoke.

i loooove sitting on the patio eating wings (boneless) and drinking beer in the summer too. Its like one of those simple things in life that make me so happy. LOL

Damn clockwork, where do you live, russia? In WA restaurants have been smoke free for a long time, and bars for a few years.
Business owners were all gloom and doom about it, "it'll put us out of business", but apparently numbers have gone up, more people will go out if they don't have to have live in a sea of smoke.

Oh yeah...I even get annoyed about it in my own neighborhood if a neighbor is smoking on their deck and I have a house full of company and I have to get up to close my window.

Us Ex-smokers are the snobbiest about it I guess.

That'd be a declaration of war if I had that situation with a neighbor. I'd be a prick and burn leaves or do something else to generate a bad smell the next time he was trying to enjoy some time on the deck or had his windows open.

I'm getting hungry just thinking about it... Damn. One of the best things in life, by far.

It's better that than have your kiddos breathing in the smoke while eating at Applebee's. Do you go to the target on S. 19th?
That's the most ghetto one ever! We've got a nice shiny new one in Bonney Lake.

Yep, on 19th street.

What's up with BL's Wal-Mart even being nicer? Sheesh! I was in there on Easter Weekend. I didn't even notice any smokers by the door.

uncle phil?
Philip Morris USA aka Marlboro, Virginia Slims, Basic, Ect.

Uncle Phil is a rich guy who takes very good care of his employees but at the end of the day it's still the tobacco biz. He's glad he got out but it was a nice life while it lasted.

Smoking has not been allowed here for awhile now. I love it! It's great going to a club and it not stinking and having to shower drunk because you stink. I just want to pass out when I have been drinking. lol

Ah I see it could change though since it is more strict. I used to social smoke when I drink after I quit smoking full time and now I can't even have a drag. It is real nasty to me now.

I think enforcing a smoking ban should be the decision of the restaurant owners, not the local government. I personally do not smoke. I'm not sure how such ordinances will affect restaurants. It probably depends heavily on the existing clientele, location of the restaurant, and kind of food served.

If you are speaking about publicly owned property, legislators can do whatever they want with it. Unfortunately forcing an ordinance like this on the private sector destroys any chance a pioneering entrepreneur of launching such a restaurant catering to non-smokers. What happens if one owns a 'cigar bar' in a town that passes anti-smoking ordinances?

I live in the midwest

You can smoke anywhere you want here.. very few restaurants do not allow smoking.. but only like 2 or 3 bars don't allow it

bars/restaurants.. love it went into effect..

and now they can't smoke within 100' of an entrance, nor state or city parks..

i smoke

leave it to the resaurant owners to decide

and as far as bars, jesus christ, you're in a goddman bar. there to consume alcohol, get drunk, party, etc. in the midst of all these other ungodly things, inhaling some second hand smoke isn't going to ruin you anymore. besides the vast majority of bar frequenters are smokers. alcohol and tobacco go together.

btw I smoke and am more jacked than any of you

i love that you cant smoke in pubs and clubs anymore (since im in them for 30 hours a week and dont want to get cancer from some other dudes smoke - thanks stringbean lol)

something hilarious though are the convos i have with drunk peopel smelling other peoples farts - fucking hilarious, they get violent and everything, and want to sniff everyones jocks to find the offender LOL ;)
