slopitch players need some help

That's simple . . . buy a 34 oz. / 34" TPS Inertia end loaded model SB21E. If your league allows then get a Worth PST Vanadium same size. I use Inertia's exclusively (balance and end load,) but do have a Supercell EST for backup.

dude, if you have problems with power using a connexion bat, you will have problems with any bat...

i personally prefer the demarnini distance bat over the zcore, but both do the trick quite well. my main prob. with the zcore is i havent found it in even a 28oz... they always seem to be 26oz... i hate that, but if its 60-75 degrees, man that ball jumps like hell.

I have used 2 different demarnini bats....... and dented them both. I just don't like them. Anyway I use a Supercell (its a blue and silver one..don't know the model number) and my last at bat for the summer season I hit a home run to dead center that a guy has played for 15 years said was the farthest home run he has ever seen hit, the centerfielder didn't even move... Im not sure how much difference these fancy bats make. A lot of it is in your wrist speed and hips and legs.... Im only 5'8 205...

i.have hit 375 foot bombs with the connexion .trying to experiment. there got to be away.i have aworth 555 to.

Yeah that's the same EST I own now (blue and silver.) It's not a bad bat if you have a long barrel version. I personally think the old black and silver version was better. As far as Demarini, I've hit some massive Hr's off of them but like you said there notorious for pancaking or splitting. I don't know the quality of Demarini's now since Wilson took over the company.

Hey Kryp2o I didn't know you played on a girls softball team???

:-) j/k

Yeah it's for Playboy. At first they wouldn't let me on the team until I told them I was a male lesbian, then it was ok. Actually I don't play much, I let all the girls play with my bat and balls and I just sit back and enjoy. ;)

So fantom, how's the season going on the NAMBLA team. Didn't you say you "score" a lot. :D

doe,s anybodt know how to load aslopitch bat for performance. it,s a easton connection zcore thanks.
Modern bat technology (high end) revolves around thin walls and metal quality----so you can't really "load" it up like you could a wooden bat to get more distance. However, I do know of one guy who would put a small amount of vaseline on his bat to induce more back spin, but he was a great hitter, so you should be an advanced player before attempting this or you might wind up popping up to the catcher.

You can always spend more money are a bat with superior materials/design like one of the higher end Worth EST's or work on your hitting stroke. There are videos available that help you with adding distance in slo-pitch softball. Some of the constants you will note if you check out one of the many videos available on this topic, is that distance comes from full arm extention (meeting the ball out in front), putting backspin on the ball with a level or slightly downward swing striking the lower half of the ball, and good leg drive/follow-through.

In our coed league, the men only get the "mush" balls balls pitched to them, not the regular softballs. I hate these things, but at least you know the ball wont go over 200'.

Even with the best hitters in my league, all I have to do is get way back and........bing! right into my glove...:D

What I do in hitting is either punch the ball down toward 3rd base or swing easy and hit between SS and left field.

BTW I just got an EST yesterday...on sale at Big 5 for $99.00

That is the same Supercell i started using the last month of our season. I love the jump off of it. The first game I used it I hit a line drive home run towards left & Center, I was amazed at how fast it got out there.

I can tell you from my teams experience that a good bat makes all the difference in the world. Guys who would normally only ever get singles were getting doubles and triples and the only difference was the bat. I even hit a few home runs that would have been easy pop outs with our old bats.

Yes you can load any aluminum bat. Tennis balls will make it was to heavy and it won't be end loaded. I had (I dented the hell out of it so I couldn't use it any more) 26 oz bat that was loaded to a 32 oz with an epoxy resin in the end. It was the old blue Supercell Lighthouse that came out the year before all the Cryogenic bats. What they did was take the end cap off...... take a drill with a wire wheel brush on it and scuff up the inside of the bat and then drill a hole in the knob......put a ball with wax paper over it and set the bat on top of it...held it straight up and down with clamps and then poured the resin in the hole in the end of the bat. That bat had some serious ass pop!!!!!

Now there are guys doing all kinds of shit with them. One guy puts a titanium sleeve in the new PST's. All of this composite material in bats and I don't think a load is going to make that much difference.

I swing the Worth 3DX which is a triple wall bat that has carbon fiber composite as the outside wall with a coat of resin of some sort over it. If I am not swinging that I swing the Purple ESTK.....has an extended knob....for the guys that use the demarini grip but I can't swing like that so I use it to get an extra 1 - 2 inches of bat.

I can't swing a Demarini they dent like a SOB when I hit it. Even the fat boy which is suppossed to be for guys that swing harder than average.

Forgot to add the link for a good softball talk/post/learn board

i love softball! i pitched for my school freshamn and sophmore year but had a back injury and am not allowed to pitch any more. istill play third though. what is your position.
my advice to you for slow pitch is wait longer for the ball, a lot of people slow down their bat speed. Also you want to make sure you hit it over you leading foot not square over the plate (major misconception) another good pointer is to keep your weight back, if you throw your weight into the ball you won't hit it square on. make sure you are rotating your wrists and completely following through. These are just a couple of pointers that most people have problems with.

fellas, the demarnini bats are expected to dent... thats why they have a GREAT warranty... they replace that bitch for you when you dent it... so basically you are covered for 2 summers of softball for 150 bucks... they KNOW how soft that double wall is...

the one i was using cleared the fence on the other field for my first homer... i was hitting like shit, couldnt find a bat i liked and the connexion was WAYYY too light at 26 oz. my powercell got the job done for line drives but i could barely pop that ball over the 300 fence... that demarnini cleared the 300 with about 15 feet to spare.. over the other fields fence... its fun to hear a RCF on the other field say "holy shit"

by the way.. i saw a bat on ebay for 700 bucks... some graphite thing.. by worth i think... 700 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
