Slin - Into a Vein?

Singleton

New member
1. What would happen if one were to inject slin into a vein?

2. Can you aspirate with a 27g insulin needle?

I always aspirate. I've never gotten blood from aspiration with a 27g but I have hit a few veins, some probably major, judging by the forceful eruption of blood from the injection site.

Insulin is sometimes administered via an IV infusion, so it is safe to say that you can put it in a vein. However, as one would assume, if you go in a vein it will IMMEDIATELY hit the blood supply and take effect as opposed to having to go throught the tissues as in a subcutaneous injection.

Not all insulin is made to give IV. Just b/c a couple pf them can be give IV still doesn't mean they can be shot into the vein. Also, veins aren't under high pressure, it's the artires are high pressure.

Sorry I was assuming he meant reg insulin because it seems that is what most are using. Personally, I would never touch the stuff to risky to me to fuck with. Knowing my luck, I would fall out lol.

You could do it, but I wouldn't recommend it. The timing effect would be too great a risk. Sub Q you have a pretty accurate idea when it will kick in.
