Slim Jims, worthy or worthless?

Loomer

It's been one of those days, and I have nothing to eat, and no time to spare. So I made a quick stop at a gas station, and everything is something that my cutting diet cannot have. The beef sticks and jerky are the only things reasonably close, but they lack any nutritional information on the packages.

I'm curious if they're decent for low carb diets, I know they're pretty loaded with saturated fats. Actually this happens a lot, I'll be out with some friends and everyone grabs a snack and I'm stuck with little to nothing to choose from, until it's time to bulk.

Not so good

Slim Jims and other similar products are not that good for you. They are about 20% meat and 80% nitrates and preservatives. If you have to choose you are better off getting jerkey, at least with this stuff they can only really spray the garbage on the outside as opposed to stuffing the thing full of it. Pork rinds are also a good choice (0 carbs), basically deep-fried fat blobs (great for keto diets).

5% beef, 95% anal cavity and urine.

That shits disgusting. It used to be good, now they seem to make them hard to chew. They're wrapped in lambskin condoms or something, hehe.

95% ass!! ouch.

seriously, stick to the protein bars or ready made sandwiches or pork rinds or skim milk or cheese or Nature's Valley Granola Bars good beef jerky.

Basically it depends on what kind of a diet you're on.

If you're on low-carb but not ketogenic and still want to eat clean, the low-carb protein bars may be your best bet, along with the beef jerkey (but you never know whats in there) and ready made sandwiches with the bread removed.

my .02.

I travel alot for my job and find myself in this same dilemma. I'm usally out in the field for a week, so on Sunday or Monday I'll buy a bunch of bars and eat those accordingly; ones with carbs I'll eat after a WO, the ones without at other times.

Yep, Beef Jerky or Pork Rinds. Hell, pork rinds are relatively low in fat, carb free, and high in protein. Can't beat it!
