Sleep????

I see where everyone says to get at least 8 hours sleep. I have a problem with this. well its not a problem for me, but everyone says its best to get 8 hours for recovery reasons.
heres my problem, I only get 5-6 hour sleep every night. if I get more then 6 hours I wake up with massive headaches like a bad hangover headache . I've been that way for at least 20+ years and I function fine with 5-6 hour sleep. anyone ever here of this or have this problem
 
I read in mens health that (or maybe FHM :D) not everyone needs 8hrs, its just an average or based on the researchers thoughts, some people even say 9!

i get by fine on 7-9, and can function on 4-6 when not training but then i build up a sleep deficit. when training i feel its important to eat and sleep very well to prevent over training and i always aim for 8hrs sleep
 
Your body will sleep what it needs, not to worry if your are fine with less than 8 hrs...then you are fine.
