skin cancer

hey whats up guys and gals, well i tan using a tanning bed, but when lay down in the tanning bed, I use a dark towel to cover my face. i cover my face because i dont my face to age, i just like to have some color in my face and just want a really tan body. well i am asking when i put the towel over my face and ears etc....will that help me against skin cancer and aging in the face......i know ppl can get skin cancer on the rest of the body, but usually it is on the face, ear, nose .....thanx for your time

i wouldnt worry about cancer, but if you have any moles i would drfinitly cover those....Moles turn in to cancer, I think.

You are so smart to cover your face. I think the dark towel blocks the tanning bed rays, why not ask the owner of the salon?

Yes, I'm sure a dark towel will block the rays.

But you're only protecting your face, aren't you? Admittedly, that and the back of your hands are the parts of the body most exposed to the sun.

Skin cancer's obviously a bigger risk of your very fair or, worst, red-headed, but even darker-skinned people can get it.

So keep an eye on any moles etc, and get someone else to check the parts of the body you can't see, like the back!

the towel should do the trick for your face. but your arms and back are also susceptibable to skin cancer as they usually are normally in the sun more often

If your skin type is highly susceptable to skin cancer, than, theoretically, all parts of your body are equally at risk. Most people have problems with their face b/c in addition to tanning, it is constantly exposed throughout the day. Get a high quality face lotion (keihls makes a great one) and put it on in the morning after washing zee face.
