ok i am in the sun alot and tan here and there. i want to get check for skin cancer, just go to the DR or go to a dermotoliglist?

and those who have been checked. how old were when you got checked?
and what ages can skin cancer appear?

had it removed 6 months ago, im 31 now, noticed it ( i think) about a year before but thought it was a blemish. go to a dermotologist. i did go in the sun and tanning bed a lot...no more tanning bed and sun screen when outside. i had it on my face so i got M.O.S.E. method, more expensive but less scar and more likely to get it on first operation.

thanx bro....what age should someone who has gotten alot of sun go in?

and would have gone in a few years earlier if you would have redone it?

removed= meaning yoi dont any skin cancer correct?

Tiger, tanning indoors and in beds is not really good for you if you do too much of it. The lighter skinned you are the more dangerous it can be. The UV radiation causes point mutations in your DNA which causes cancer, more exposure=more risk. I think you probably will be ok if you are only getting a little tan, but having that baked chicken look year round is a no no. Melanoma is not something to mess with.

if in the sun a lot, i would suggest 25. if not a mega tanner or history in family 30<----just my opinion

thanx guys.....well i work out side and i live where it is sunny all the time....i will just be extra careful and have a check up soon

any doc can do the checkup, but further analysis and tests should really be done by a dermatologists....

have you noticed any moles? or any other blemishes?

If you have any moles or 'freckles' that you think are changing in shape, size, and/or colour you may want to get that checked out. That is usually the first sign.

What type of skin do you have? Are you fair skinned? You easily or not?
