shower before gym?

How many of you people shower before going to the gym??? i see this as being pointless but yet the guy i go lift with ALWAYS insists on showering before he goes to the gym.. i don't get it. waiting on his GF now to take a shower so we can go lift.

Depends if I had one for the day. If I got bed head then I shower or at least wash my hair.
