Should I stay away from creatine?

I hear that creatine is really bad because basically your body produces it and when you take it your body will eventually stop producing it so when you stop taking it your body can go into shock even causing liver failure also i have heard that if you stop using it you lose all the muscle you gained while on it. I have a full bottle sitting next to me and im debating on weather or not to use it so can anyone tell me if this is true and it is as bad as they say it is or am i being misinformed?

bullshit...

creatine has been being used since the 70's, and the only affects from it as far as i know is possible bloating (with monohydrate), and possible cramping if you do not consume enough water...

what kind do you have...?

Creatine monohydrate by pro performance from gnc i dont know cuz the guy that works there is the one that told me about the liver failure and the muscle loss.

no you shouldn't stay away from creatine... just certain types, like monohydrate. But if you have it already... just make sure to keep water intake high (as it's supposed to be anyway).

Yup, protein powder comes in handy :coffee:

There's no magic supplement... stick with a strict diet regimine.

well then what kind of creatine should i get and another question when do you take it before or after your weightlifting session and how long before or after? thanks for all the help i appreciate it.

I like pureCEE alot... that type, Estle ether...spellings way off, look it up... good stuff.

30 minutes before is quite standard.... that's about it.

Get Creatine Ethyl-Ester HCl, instead of mono. Cost's a little more but you use less and no bloating, plus doesn't have to be taken with any type of carbs to work.

I use Creatine mono and it works the same for me as CEE. I honestly didn't notice a difference when it came to muscle or performance. The only real differnce is the tast. Mono tastes awful.

honestly, I have to disagree with that statement.

there are a few magic supplements. Most of them are EXTREMELY dangerous though :-)

Magic supplement #1 DNP -- anyone will lose weight FAST on this. you may die taking it though

Magic supplement #2 GHB -- Again most anyone will lose weight on this super fast, but you may also die.. :-)

That said, never consider those two as options and just assume what Sgt said is true..
