I have a good life and I'm happy the majority of the time. But then I start thinking about trends, situations and what should have, could have, would have been. Lives are made and ruined by the tiniest of circumstances.

For example, last night possibly the best governor in the country (see National Review, Sept 2, 02) was standing next to me after shaking hands and I had to leave and blow my friggin nose.

Not sure...some guys think farts are funny if they don't smell. On the other hand, a loud and deadly fart would have been worse than having to leave.

Connections/who you know will largely determine your success in life...most likely. Hard to get to know someone when you leave to blow your shnoz. I had to...it was starting to drip.

I've spent some time socializing with politicians, and what it really comes down to is how much cash you contribute to their campaigns. All the rest is bullshit. I know from personal experience.

How come everybody at Elite has far superior sources to me? Is there a subscription that I am unaware of? A cable program that I do not get? An Elite board filled with insider info?
