oh - I just tried to make a thread about 18 times and it wouldn't let me. I have news. Good news. News worthy of me getting a tute tonite.

Anyway, my VP just pulled me into her office (yes, the one that the skinny Abercrombie kid is tagging) and asked me to close the door - never good. They are giving me a raise. A 5-fucking-thousand dollars a year raise! Unreal. This company is pretty cheap too, but goddamn I must be doing something right. coke on me peeps!

lol @ wtf! I was expecting maybe $1,000 or 2 for a stretch, especially since this place is notoriously cheap. I think I may now be the highest paid at this position and I have only been in this position for about a month!

I work for a sports & entertainment sponsorship consulting firm. I work more on the event side, customer hosting, hospitality at major events and whatnot. and no shot at me giving my salary to anyone. but with the raise it is now respectable. not a lot of money in what I do (at least not for a while).

Congrats on your raise! I personally could not stand working for other people...waiting for them to realize how good and dedicated an employee I was: that's why I run the show now! lol.

But good luck to you...chin up and keep patient. Also, it helps to know who's ass to kiss.

Did they tell you $5000 or did they tell you a percentage and it came out to 5k?

Maybe some people (clients you hosted) put in a good word for you to the bosses. If there was enough of them, they saw that you should be compensated so you would`nt feel the need to leave.

Damn, are you hitting on me, GL? They told me $5,000. And I think that they realized a) I am on top of my game and b) the goals that my manager and I set for me for the next year, project-based, are responsibilities that were handled by people a level above me in the past. Hence, they know I am working above my level/salary, so they did something about it.

CT. you wanna come over and play Halo and watch the news?
