Sharks at the beach

this morning in Delray Beach - 20 mins north of FTL - a few dozen sharks were spotted swimming off the beach shore. Yeah, not a few.. but a few DOZENS. The local news said it was hundreds, but you know how they are prone to exaggeration.

The water is closed until further notice. But there is a huge crowd down here already for spring break.

they had pics on the news a few weeks ago of some beach in florida with schools of sharks (at least 50) swimming right off the beach, they closed that one down too

They didn't say how big they were or anything. Maybe they could just allow the drunken teens to carry a stick in the water for personal defense. Whack 'em over the head should they get too close.

Are you talking about the public beach in front of Boston's, right off of Atlantic and South Ocean???? If so Damn.....I have some friends staying at that Marriott right now....sucks for them. That's literally two miles from my condo......

pit - not sure of the exact location. They just said delray beach.. the news short was showing water and sand and people. When you don't see the background, all the beaches tend to look alike then.

I love it when I surf fish along the beach and catch a 2-3 ft or so Shark
right near where some Mom has her kids swimming. She sees me haul
this shark up on the beach, looks out at her kids swimming and does
a scene from Jaws yelling for them to get out of the water..

Probably happened 1/2 dozen times now..

wow...that's a lot of sharks.

when i was in hawaii in august, one of the weeks I was there happened to be 'shark week' on some channel, and it was show after show about shark attacks, LOL. turned out the last shark attack in maui was in april of that year... when i went surfing, i cut my leg (not badly) and my instructor joked that now the sharks would be able to sniff me out. LOL.

Surprised there are that many sharks around here considering the ocean temp is a brisk 59 degrees. My fiance and I went to New Smyrna last week and that water was fucking coooold. There were people actually swimming in this ice water. The only thing I could think was that they were from up north where they are used to that water temp
