Serious Question about Bongs

Why? Why not just smoke it?

Water filters out "some" carcinogens to a degree.
Also, most rolling paper is dipped in harmful substances, especially the adhesive part.
Bong's deliver a fresher more complete "hit".
The shorter the bong, the better, the farther the smoke has to travel, the weaker/harsher it gets.
Bubblers are ideal for smoking, my favorite device. peace

I have a two chambered water bong that i use most of the time. I fill the first chamber about half full of warm water, the other side gets alittle cold water and then is filled with icecubes all the way to the top.

SO SMOOTH. Also saves me pot because I can get two bowls from one joint.

I remember back in the day we added Ice to the bong water.
Also had a device with a mask and an air pump to force the smoke from the bowl to the mask and in...
Then, there were the pipes with Nitros cylinders inside to blend as you drew...

alcohol bongs are retarded. I always had a laugh at the guys that did that - UNLESS you are going to drink the alcohol later - but that is gross considering that you use a bong to get the tar and such out.
(retarded because the THC will get pulled out by the alcohol, so you won't be breathing in the one thing that you want from the smoke)

warm water filters out the nasty shit (tars and whatnot) in the water better than cold water does.
cold water will help cool the smoke so it is much less harsh on the lungs.
hence the development of the multistage bong. (warm chamber or chambers to get the gunk out, and cold chamber or chambers to cool the smoke to make it easier to inhale a lot)

the downside of a multistage bong is that as you add stages to it, it becomes increasingly difficult to draw anything through it.

I never really cared about smoking pot since it doesn't really have any effect on me (I get really paranoid that people know that I'm hungry - but I experience zero "high" feelings) - but I like engineering.
so Soph year in college we made "The Octopus" which was an 8 stage bong made from used 2Liter bottles of Coke and aquarium tubing.
That was too hard to draw from, and entirely overkill - so we tookit apart, added more aquarium parts (like an air pump), reduced it to a 2 stage bong with 4 pull tubes, and obviously the air pump allowed a forced pressure system so you didn't have to pull all that hard (or at all really).
we called that one "The Aquarium"

that eventually broke and they ended up just using individual 2L bottles as the bongs.

Nothing better than getting Stoned and listening to a good album on a great Stereo system.

I remember 5-6 people sitting in a room listening and just starring into space. Not saying a word for hours..

Bongs are generally more favorable to dope-heads ... because when they roll up a fat blunt, they tend to pass out... thereby dropping the fatty on the ground causing a fire... which consumes them.

The Bog, if knocked over, acts as a fire-safety device as the water within will put out fires.

It is merely a safer way for druggies to smoke it...

lately i've beem smoking through a vaporizer. thc burns at a lower temp than the actual leaf. all you inhale is the vapor (thc and other cannaboids), no smoke or nasty carcinogens.
