Sergio Oliva and Tom Platz

I believe that out of all the classis 70's bodybuilders (yes I know Sergio ruled the sixties too) these two I believe were the last to retire from competition. I cant think of anyone else, I know Al Beckles was old but I dont consider him a part of that legendary group.

No bro, why do you say that? Its a separate thread. One's about Gaspari, this one is about the Myth and the Golden Eagle.

Platz is normal sized now other than a big head :D I don't know why he quit lifting?

Sure, Zane was in all three decades like Oliva. But Zane retired before Oliva, and Platz, or so I believe, I could be wrong and often am.

I am sure he still has some legs on him..no way he could lose all that development.

He looks like a record breaking bicyclist, I'm not putting down the man of the 10 minute squat, just wonderting WTF changed, why...

You're wrong. Oliva retired long before those guys. They were competing in the Eighties, as was already stated. Can you imagine a guy like Frank Zane winning the "O" these days though?? He is like Brad Pitt compared to those freaks. I would much rather have Zanes physique and be able to enjoy other things in life besides lifting, and my daily drug regimine.

Robbie Robinson has been competing for over 27 years.
Longer than Sergio or Tom Platz.
I was never under the impression that Tom Platz had a particularly lengthy competitive career- and the last pics I saw of him, you wouldn't even imagine that he had ever touched a weight in his life.

If you want to see a guy who used to look incredible, then let himself go and left the weights behind, you oughtta see Mike Mentzer. A mess the last I saw. That was a few years back however. He won the 1980 Mr. O in the opinion of many. Arnold must has given old Joe a better blowjob I guess. That dude is just way too freaky looking and SOUNDING(ever hear his voice) for that matter to NOT be a flamer.

Frank Zane

Just curious, did Frank Zane even juice? If so does anyone know what he used? He still looks great today, and he has to be close to 60.

He's not looking too good nowdays, he's dead. I never really liked his physique, 1980 or otherwise.

Don't feel too bad, I didn't know Dan Duchaine was dead until a few weeks ago, I've been out of the loop for a few years myself.

platz competed from 79-87 i believe thats not a lonmg career , robby robinson, oliva, padilla, beckles were the longest oliva retired 85
