Then when you contact the Mod with the info they should cover the rules for these posts. I made more than one contact to cover my bases and noone gave me the protocol to follow. We are not all out here flying off the handle with information.
There was no lesson here as I followed the rules that I thought existed.
The goal is to keep others from being scammed, not playing board police.
No, the POINT is that before scammer info is posted, that you must be ABSOLUTELY SURE that the info is correct, and that he is a scammer.
We had an incident not long ago, where someone was SURE that someone scammed him, swore up and down, only to find out it was a misunderstanding. The post saying that someone was a scammer was bumped, quoted, posted, and went all over the place. Who knows what might have been done to a good source? Who knows what someone may have done if they decided to play vigilante?
Oh - and the "retraction" post, where the guy said "oh, sorry, turns out he was not a scammer after all" was hardly seen and in fact was removed from the board.
And now that he WAS a legit source, then any records of that name ends up being a source posting, placing the Board at risk.
And, becuase one dude jumped-the-gun, a source was now gone.
Half the the guys who THINK they got scammed are basically pissed because its taking longer than an amazon.com order, or they are whining because their email took longer than 3 days to get a reply. I am not saying that you did this, but the fact is that the mods and the board need to screen out legit scamming reports from those dudes who are just whining or impatient, or maybe even just have a personal vendetta against someone (that HAS happened before).
So, don't whine about the board polices in verifiying when someone is a scammer. Placing the name of the Mod who approved the notice is a very very small thing to ask of you and a small price to pay.
Waiting a while, exhausting EVERY POSSIBLE SOLUTION amd VERIFYING the issues are whats needed.
And following the board rules are a requirement, without question.
