with the advent of a technocracy where science & technology grow at an exponential rate, we will soon be looking at a world where 30-80% of the blue & white collar jobs can/will be done by machines.
when this happens, society will realize that there is no grounds to grow upon, and the economy will collapse due to massive unemployment as machines will do everything that men once did.
due to massive unemployment, i see a very likely outcome in 100 years.
1. the working week will be shortened to 10-20 hours (so more people can work)
2. socialism (sharing the wealth across the board) will come back with a vengeance, as there is no need for human workers anymore.
when this happens, society will realize that there is no grounds to grow upon, and the economy will collapse due to massive unemployment as machines will do everything that men once did.
